Why I Shoot Weddings the Way I Do
I did not become a wedding photographer because I love perfectly posed images or rigid timelines or picture perfect moments that feel staged. I became a wedding photographer because life taught me how fragile, emotional, and fleeting real moments are.
I know what it means to hold onto memories because they are all you have left of a season, a person, or a version of life that will never exist again. My own family has walked through cancer, caregiving, and loss, and those experiences permanently changed how I see time and togetherness. They also changed how I photograph weddings. When I walk into a wedding day, I am not looking for perfection. I am looking for the raw. The way your hands find each other when you are nervous. The deep breath you take before walking down the aisle. The way your parents look at you when they think no one is watching. Those moments matter more than anything you could recreate later.
I shoot weddings the way I do because I know how important it is to be fully present. I do not want my couples to feel like they are performing their love for the camera. I want them to feel like they are living it. My role is to quietly observe, anticipate, and preserve what unfolds naturally while still offering gentle guidance when it helps you feel confident and comfortable.
As a mother myself, I am deeply aware of how fast life moves. One day you are in the middle of it and the next you are looking back wondering how it all went so quickly. Weddings sit right at the beginning of a new chapter and I approach them with the weight they deserve. These are the images that will be passed down. These are the photographs your future children will ask about. These are the moments you will return to when memory fades or life feels heavy.
I believe your wedding day deserves to be documented with empathy, patience, and intention. I care about how it felt, not just how it looked. I care about the in between moments, the quiet ones, the messy ones, and the emotional ones just as much as the big celebrations. I shoot weddings the way I do because love is not curated. It is lived. And the most meaningful photographs are the ones that allow you to feel it all over again years from now.
If you are looking for images that honor your story honestly and gently, I would be so honored to be the one to tell it.
