Leaning Into a New Style

I know the title of this blog post might have you feeling a little panicked. Is my photographer totally changing things up right before my wedding day?

Absolutely not.

If anything, I’ve been leaning more deeply into the style of photographs I’ve always loved creating. Real candids, paired with intentional, elegant posing. You may have heard the term editorial floating around, and yes, that’s where my work is naturally evolving.

Editorial is every Vogue celebrity wedding gallery you’ve ever admired. But let me be clear: this isn’t a promise to strip away your meaningful moments and replace them with something stiff or overly styled. It’s the opposite. It’s a promise to elevate your candids so they feel worthy of print. Moments so beautiful, so honest, they demand to be preserved.

My motto this year has shifted in a way it never has before. It’s no longer just “get better.” It’s about leaning fully into a theme I don’t often see done this way in my editing style. Big, dramatic, unposed moments. The quiet intensity of your fiancé leaning into your hands, looking like he’d kiss the back of them every day for the rest of his life. That moment. The one that makes your chest tighten a little. The one you feel before you even realize it’s happening.

Those are the moments that deserve to be captured. Not just documented, but felt in a way that makes you pause when you see the image. The kind of photo that stops you in your tracks.

This year, my focus is on taking those moments and preserving them exactly as they felt on your wedding day. The awe. The wonder. The details that linger long after the day has passed. Images that don’t just show what happened they bring you right back into it.
